No stretchmarks (where I used this)!

 on August 6, 2017
By Kate
Early in the first trimester I started applying this to my belly, lovehandles, and thighs. I continued to apply it throughout my pregnancy until the day my son was born at 39 weeks 4 days. Pre-pregnancy I wore xs or 0-2 in everything and had a bra band size of 32; in short, I am very petite. My belly really had to stretch to accommodate the 8lb 21″ baby I carried plus the extra weight I gained throughout pregnancy. Needless to say, I did not get any stretchmarks from my belly down where I’d applied this cream. Sadly, I did not initially apply the cream to my breasts so I have an abundance of stretch marks on them πŸ™ which gives me the impression that this product is very effective!

A good option!

I liked the thickness of this! It glides on much easier than others I’ve tried and would buy it again. I will say though, don’t pay too much for these prevention creams. Here’s the sad truth. If you even have one stretch mark on your body from adolescents then you already have high odds you’ll get stretch marks during pregnancy. The only thing you can do is drink plenty of water, try to find a cream you like, and keep your weight down. Oh and don’t get smug – stretch marks don’t happen till week 38 thru 40 and the best part is they’re invisible until your skin deflates THEN you’ll see them. I know, I’m sorry to tell you this but it’s the truth.

So Far, So Good. No Stretch Marks at 27 weeks

27 weeks pregnant, and so far so good. I started using this around 18 weeks when I started to see stretch marks come in. (Rather, my fiancΓ© pointed out the stretch marks coming in.) I put this on every night after my shower and haven’t seen any stretch marks yet. I’m about 5’3″ and have gained 22 lbs (started off at 108 lbs) so far if that gives you a better idea of how much stretching I’m experiencing. I usually let my stomach air dry a bit after applying since it is pretty thick. It’s not the best smelling lotion, but it’s not bad. I’m about half way done and will probably need to order another one by the time I deliver.

I really like this product

I really like this product. It doesn’t have a strong scent and is very creamy. It absorbs very nicely too. My only qualm with this product is the price. I used the whole jar in about two months without very regular application. When it was time to reorder, I decided to buy the ingredients to basically make my own. Texture isn’t as luxurious, but I know exactly what’s in my butter and the ingredients I bought will last me at least a year.

Favorite body lotion, pregnant or not

I love the consistency and like the mild smell of this lotion (important when pregnant!), it makes my skin so moisturized. I used it my entire pregnancy twice a day and have no stretch marks. Stretch mark cream shouldn’t just be for the belly, but also hips and thighs to be effective. I still continue to buy and use this as my body lotion after baby! It soaks into skin so fast, I don’t have to wait around before putting clothes on, and it leaves my skin moisturized all day. I like it better than other burts bees lotions I used to buy, pregnant or not it’s my favorite!

I’m so happy this worked to prevent stretch marks during my pregnancy

I’m so happy this worked to prevent stretch marks during my pregnancy! I am prone to stretch marks and have some on my thighs and lower back just from growth spurts as a teenager. My sister and mother both have plenty as well, so I thought it was going to be a genetics thing that couldn’t be prevented. I tried anyway, I used this belly butter every morning right after getting out of the shower when the steam was still in the bathroom and my pours were open. Then sometimes at night I would also use the Oil version. My son is two weeks old, born 9lb 14oz, and I don’t have a single stretch mark from the pregnancy πŸ™‚ Highly recommend.

my favorite!

I held off on reviewing this for a while to see how I felt about it post-pregnancy. I tried several different stretch mark products, including cocoa butter lotion and Earth mama’s natural stretch oil. This was by far my favorite: it spreads like a thick lotion and absorbs more easily than other products. It feels light! I started moisturizing my belly right around 20 weeks, when I started to show more, and tried to diligently keep moisturizing. The one down side of this product is the price (it seems a little expensive for how much I went through, but I wasn’t exactly rationing myself. I went through about 3 containers in 20 weeks.)
