Makes shadows more vibrant!

This eyeshadow base helps my eyeshadow to be very vibrant and true to the color you see in the pan. If you apply too much it does tend to crease but if you are careful and apply a thin amount it will work very well. My eyeshadow lasts all day when I use this. I use my finger or a synthetic brush to apply. I still do use a primer with this since it’s not really a primer and I get really great results.

Great base, especially for theatrical/drag looks

I ordered this product when I started seeing it pop up more and more in tutorial videos I was watching to get inspired in creating fun drag and theatrical looks. I’ve used skin-tone primers before but this was my first time using a white base. These are excellent for theatrical/drag looks, or for any makeup application that relies on vivid colors. Think about it like a painter: they don’t paint on flesh colored canvases, but rather on bright white canvas to get the best and truest transfer of color. This primer is an excellent base for making very bright, vivid makeup looks stay put.

I highly recommend!

I bought the white base and I love it. It brings out the colors of your shadows and really makes them pop. It also remains a bit tacky after it dries, helps the shadow adhere to your lids and also helps prevent a lot of fallout. I recently ordered the black, look forward to trying it out. (On my boyfriend’s account)

I was looking for an eye shadow base that works and is reasonably priced. I tried many brands. If they work they tend to be extremely pricey for the average budget. Sometimes they were pricey and didn’t even work well which was a double whammy. After reading an article on shadow base brands I decided to try NYX Eye Shadow Base High Definition. What did I have to lose considering it is inexpensive? I was concerned when I first applied it to my eyelids because it was really smooth and creamy and that is usually a sign that it won’t work well. I was pleasantly surprised though. My eyeshadow didn’t crease by the end of the day. I had to reapply some contour color shadow much later in the day to go out but that could just be because I wear it darker to go out at night. All in all I am pleased with how it holds my shadow on for the price.

Best of the Best for sure

If I were to write a list of my Top Beauty Products ever used, this would be on it. You dont need to use a lot AT ALL to get great performance out of this. Just light dabs with your pinky finger into the pot, onto your eyelid = all eyeshadow colors pop noticeably well. Not oily, and doesnt crease (I have sort of hood eyelids and always have a problem with creasing – this product reduces this issue for me quite a bit). GREAT GREAT STUFF. Totally worth it.

Love and hate relationship…

The Nyx eyeshadow base in white is a love/hate relationship for me. On one hand it makes my eyeshadow color pop like no other base does and you have better control over it than the jumbo eye pencil in milk, BUT it creases so badly. To give you an example of how badly, I am not one to ever have to wear a primer because eyeshadows never crease on me. The only reason I wear a primer is to make my eyeshadow colors pop. When I used this as a base it would ALWAYS crease within seconds.

This is my go to shadow base right now. I’m absolutely loving it. I’ve used a few different bases and primers and I’ve liked most of them but after awhile I just get lazy and forget how much of a difference they make. A few of my others tend to get to thick and cakey looking or are hard to blend out or change the color not to the brighter more intense shade it claims to but instead dulls it out to the point it changed thre color of the shadow I put on but not this stuff. This goes on like a dream, I just run my finger around the jar to heat it up for a sec and pat it all on there from lash line to brow bone and just like that it evens everything out and the best part is this is the truest to color base or primer I’ve ever used, it does truly make the colors richer looking without changing the color completely. Just looks more intense and locks your color on all day long until you wash it off. I don’t have a problem with creasing, but I’m careful not to put too much on as it is really Creamy. I really love this stuff and a little goes a long way. It’s especially amazing when using pigments or shadows like loreals infallible line that can have fall out or need that extra bit of sticky to make the colors really stay and pop. I can see this becoming one of my holy grails.

Awesome eyeshadow primer

This stuff is seriously awesome. I prefer this tube version of NYX’s eye shadow base as opposed to their gel-pot version, as that one goes on really thick and makes my eyeshadow all goopy. This one, however, is awesome. I bought it months ago and I’m not even through the whole tube. You only need a little bit of it to cover your whole lid. The applicator wand does a good job of distributing product. I have relatively sensitive eyes and this doesn’t make my eyes sting or swell at all. It also helps keep my eyeshadow and eyeliner on all day long, even after an 8-hour shift where I’m constantly on my feet. It holds up really well with sweat, too- if I don’t use this under my eyeshadow before I go to the gym, my eyes become a smudgy mess.

This product was great for this price. The pros are it will keep your eyeshadow on all day long, it was super affordable, and when I used this product I found that I didn’t have any fall out from my eye shadows. I really didn’t see any cons to this product. I would definitely suggest you get this product.
