GREAT for Chemotherapy-induced dry skin

My wife is undergoing continuing chemotherapy for breast cancer, and will take the oral medication as long as it continues to hold back the cancer. One of the side effects of the medicine is “hand/foot syndrome” which causes the palms of the hands and soles of the feet to get very red, sore, peel, crack, etc. Recently she began applying AQUAPHOR liberally to her hands and feet, then putting on plastic gloves on her hands, and her feet into Zip-Lock baggies followed by socks to hold the baggies on. Within 10 days her hands and feet were markedly better. She can now walk without severe pain, and no more cracks in the soles of her feet.

A few years ago, I had surgery that left my foot scarred, dry, and calloused primarily due to there now being a lot of metal plates, wires, and screws holding the bones together which in turn leaves the skin feeling somewhat numb to the touch. I have tried innumerable products, soaked, and filed to at least try to heal some of the severe dryness that will sometimes crack open and bleed to no avail. So recently, I went on yet another search for anything or idea to help with this problem when I happened on Aquaphor. I thought: oh yeah, sure, another petroleum based ointment. I broke down and gave it a go – and really – OH WOW! Where has this product been my whole life? The very next day I saw a dramatic improvement in the feel of my skin to the touch. It’s been over a month of usage and it’s still working! You know how it usually goes, you try it out, it works for a week and then falls flat, but this stuff is really awesome. I apply it in the morning before heading to work and again after a shower, even though I have skipped the morning application when I’ve been running late and it hasn’t shown any ill effects.

Helping this dry dinosaur be soft again!

My dermotologist wanted me to get this for some wound care follow up. It’s worked beautifully and I think has helped the skin heal quite well.

We started buying Aquaphor Baby when our little one’s diaper rash just kept getting worse with a zinc based cream. We switched to this original version since it’s the same formula and a few bucks cheaper. We’ve found that the generic version of Aquaphor is absolutely not the same and that Amazon carries this product at the best price especially if you use subscribe and save. It’s nice and thick and stays thick when applied and absolutely healed a very, very bad diaper rash and has prevented it from coming back for our little guy. Wish we had started using Aquaphor right away!

Every couple of years it’s time for a new jar. I’ve been using Aquaphor for more than 30 years. It’s the only product that helps my terrible dry and cracked hands in winter. My trick to keep everything I tough from getting oily is to rub a generous amount into my hands and then use disposable nitrile gloves overnight. This not only assists the healing affect of the Aquaphor, which happens from the skin out, but keeps it in contact with the skin without getting rubbed off on sheets and pillows and towels and dog and…Try it. You can reuse the gloves if you don’t tear them.

Because I swear! Overnight it will completely heal them to perfectly soft and smooth, better than normal looking lips! Same with dry patches on skin…amazing must have!!! 🙂

I bought this for a somewhat unusual need: my English bulldog tends to develop dry, cracked skin around his nostrils. I’ve tried other creams and ointments, including a few his vet recommends, but for whatever reason, my bulldog doesn’t tolerate them – he just rubs up against the nearest soft material he can find (often, my pants!) and wipes it off. To my surprise, he doesn’t do any of this with the Aquaphor – he tolerates it well, and it does a wonderful job of improving his skin. After just a few weeks, his skin has improved dramatically thanks to the Aquaphor.

I love this product. It truly is the only product that heals my lips and dry skin . I like it so much I decided to get this large jar. It will definitely be used up. I use it for everything. Dry heel skin, dryness around toes and fingernails -especially in the winter. I also bought the lip ointment tube to carry in purse for lips. There is nothing that I have tried that heals and keeps my lips supple looking like Aquaphor.

Use on my baby and on my own skin!

I love Aquaphor ointment – I feel like it reduces redness and irritation on diaper rashes, drool rashes, carpet burns, and even zits and overly dry skin in a matter of minutes/hours! I also love that this comes in a tub. I had the ointment that came in the tube, and, while it was a little more convenient, I feel like there was a lot of waste because it was harder to control how much came out.

Better than Petroleum Jelly

I like the product and will use it as needed but it is 41% petroleum jelly so it does not absord into your skin right away. So caution would be advised about what you touch after you apply it to your hands.
